The purpose of this text is to express the importance of one learning a foreign language in the 21 century. This text talks about why our world seems smaller now and is more global. Talks about our global economy and how some businesses require employees to speak one or more different languages. The article also talks about how it is inevitable for a person that is involved in political affairs to know more than one language. I think one of the most important parts is the fact that this article also mentions the fact that in most US schools foreign languages are usually only an elective subject and are not always required. The intended audience for this article are anyone involved with education, global companies, and anyone interested in learning another language. This text goes with my blog of wanting more languages to be available to WVU students.Especially the part where the text talk about Americas global economy.

The author of this article even lists some businesses and companies that require people to learn a foreign language. I found that list very important to my blog. It goes to show how important it is for students to learn another language if they want to work in certain fields. The intended audience for this article would be businesses and companies, people wanting to work in these fields, and anyone who wants to learn another language.

The purpose of this article is to tell how the Chinese government is sending teachers to teach Chinese all over the globe. This article talks about how in most schools foreign language is fading. This article states how the Chinese government is willing to pay for other countries to learn their language. This article also mentions how the Advanced Placement Test in Chinese has been increasing. It said that the number of placement tests taken that it almost passed German as the third most taken Advanced Placement Test. The intended audience for this article would be anyone who works with education, government officials, companies, and students. This article relates to my blog by explaining how important it is to other countries to have their language being learned by others. Also if China is willing to pay to have their language to be taught then maybe other countries are willing to. This could help bring in more languages to WVU.

The purpose of this article is to inform people of the increasing students that want to take foreign language course in college. The article talks budget cuts in the Foreign Language Department in colleges. But even with the budget cuts the number of students enrolling in language courses keeps increasing. The audience intended for this article would be Colleges, government officials that would like to donate to the Foreign Language Departments, and students that are interested in Languages. This article relates to my blog by stating the growing interest of learning different languages in college students. This article states the growing interests in languages that WVU does not have yet which also goes with my blog.

This article goes along great with my blog by how China is willing to pay to spread their language. So are other countries willing too? WVU should try and find this out.

This article talks about U.S. House of Representatives recently passed a proposal, HR 1, that amongst other things take away the Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) within the Department of Education.FLAP is the only funding for K-12 foreign language innovation and best practices. The $26.9 million in funding are being used to develop programs in critical languages to help support our economic and national security interests and prepare our graduates to compete in the 21st century. This article talks about the importance of learning another language and their Diversity. The article is in Turkish but it is also translated into English so it is very reader friendly for either language speaker.I really appreciated this article as I was reading it.What may be considered an appropriate act in a culture may not be considered so in another because when two or more people from diverse cultures try to communicate with each other, problems may arise due to their differing personal and social lives , customs and traditions, world views and so on. This is a huge issue and a reason to learn different languages and cultures that people don't always think about. If you are interested in foreign language, culture, or interactions between countries this article is beautiful written and will touch you with its reasoning. This article goes hand and hand with my blog because its main topic of how learning another language or culture is so important is why i am trying to get more languages available for WVU's students.

development of proficiency in a Korean as a Foreign Language classroom. They used 66 native English speakers that are learning the Korean Language. The main question asked in this article is why some learners do so much better and find it easier than others to learn another language, and what separates the good learner from the unsuccessful learner. This article is good if you wanted to learn a new language or if you want to improve you teaching skills. This article relates to my blog because it talks about teaching a foreign language that WVU doesn't have and how it can be taught effectively.
